FAQ

What kind of vehicle can I donate?
In short, any type of vehicle which still holds some value can be donated. Be it a car, truck, RV, boat, trailer, or even a motorcycle can be considered for charitable donation.

Does my car have to be emissions test certified?
Not necessarily. Most registered charities will accept a vehicle which has not recently passed an emission test.

Does my car need to be in operational condition?

Not always. The car simply needs to be towable. Some charities specify that the vehicle be operational, or at least have an engine. Simply put, if the cost of transporting the vehicle outweighs the value of the vehicle, your donation will be declined.

What about towing fees?
Many registered charities will provide their own towing services, and make all the necessary arrangements. This is a very attractive service to look out for when selecting a charitable organization.

My charity provides towing services, how do I prepare for this?
You simply need to contact the charity you’ve selected to donate to, and schedule a pick up time. In order to properly hand over your vehicle to a charity’s towing service, you must typically provide:

• The title to the vehicle
• The keys
• Written consent of transfer

Do I need the title to my vehicle to donate?
Yes. Your vehicle does not necessarily have to be registered, however you must be in possession of the title to the vehicle.
